What is 'MTBVanLife'?

‘MTB’ short for mountain bike, and ‘VanLife’ for what we do part time whenever we get the chance. MTBVanLife was created as a project and joint venture between friends. It all started when Sam bought a T6 Transporter as a project camper van conversion. Luke then built up a brand alongside this, and here we are today sharing our adventures with you! We are now part of the growing 'Van Life' scene which truly is an amazing community, full of stories and great friends. Follow our travels on Instagram @themtbvanlife

'Van Life'

Through the summer and winter of 2017, Sam and Luke spent most weekends converting the empty shell of a van into a purpose built camper. As keen mountain bikers, it had to be fit for transporting bikes, as well as having some of the amenities to live. Although a small space, various designs and improvements have meant the space has been used efficiently.

Mountain Biking

Together the team got into mountain biking seriously in around 2015. However before then whilst at school, evenings and weekends would be spent riding over to the local mountain bike park at Hadleigh. This soon had its limits, and the determination to venture further afield took hold! Now with a growing following, new plans to adventure are always happening.

Every effort is made to document the travels and adventures with MTBVanLife, as well as the mountain biking. Many photos are taken by the team, but Luke has always had a passion for photography and editing videos. If there is anything you want to see, let us know and we will strive to ensure we bring you the content you want to see!

Our Story In Short

We are three friends who decided to invest some time and start to ride mountain bikes seriously. We spent many weekends converting an empty VW Transporter into a purpose built camper van to suit our needs. Having the van enables us to travel further afield with the bikes and allow time to explore new places while making new friends. To think we started riding at our local trails in Hadleigh, Essex; but now fast adding to our list of places visited. Our ultimate aim is to travel the length and breadth of the UK as well as tackling what Europe and the Alps have to offer. You can follow our adventures here and on our Instagram @themtbvanlife
